Tara’s Transplant Journey 

March 19, 2018 @ 5:52 PM-The phone call that I awaited for the last almost 12 years came in from my Case Manager. Even she was excited and told me she’s been waiting a long time to make this call. It was great news. The medical director had approved Zone 1 of the transplant process. It felt surreal, but this was the real deal. The process was really beginning. I would be starting all of the pre-transplant testing soon. I’m so ready!!

My name is Tara Notrica. I’m a married mother of 2 children, ages 17 and 13. I have been battling a disease called Mast Cell Disease for many years. In 2015, I had an autologous stem cell transplant that was unsuccessful. In May, 2018, I will be receiving a bone marrow transplant. During this process, I was very inspired by the power of music which led to co-writing a few original songs that my daughter sang and recorded. We hope to release “Second Chance,” a song about getting a second chance in life, real soon. Please follow my journey as I embark on the opportunity to get my “Second Chance” at life.
